Assigning a new Technician

To reassign an inspection, the current Technician must:

  • Complete all areas of the inspection they are responsible for, then select “Save” at the top of the inspection’s main page.
  • Select another Technician from the "Assigned To____" drop-down list. A notification is sent to the newly assigned Technician to let them know the inspection is ready for them to claim and continue working.

An inspection is considered claimed when the newly assigned Technician opens the inspection.

To claim any inspection, whether re-assigned as described above or not, a Technician can select the row in the vehicle queue and click "Save".

Once the new Technician has completed and saved the inspection, it can be marked completed (as described in Marking the inspection completed) and sent back to the Advisor or the Parts Clerk (if “Parts Requested” was selected in the recommendation window).

Note: The inspection can be reassigned multiple times until it is marked completed.

In the vehicle queue, the new Technician's name now appears in the Tech/Advisor column for the inspection.

Note: In order for the Technician to release a locked inspection, they must select the "Vehicle Queue" icon to return to the queue.
